Chihayafuru has also led to the popularity of competitive karuta, especially among the younger generation, and many people have become interested in watching competitive karuta.

In order to make it easier for people who are new to competitive karuta to understand and enjoy the sport, this year's competition will be held at the venue where visitors can experience the power and tension of the game, as well as at public viewing venues where they can enjoy the game casually and with commentary.

For those fans who cannot make it to the venue, a new public viewing venue will be set up in Tokyo. In addition, the competition will also be live-streamed on YouTube.
