Associated with our exhibition "Birds! Birds! Birds!", we invite a falconer and a real hawk to learn about hawk hunting.
Hawk hunting is one of Japanese traditions. Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Shogun of Tokugawa era, was well-known to his appreciation for hawk hunting. The falconer belongs to the Suwa group, which had been serving for the Tokugawa Shogun family.
He will talk about their traditional hawk hunting (in Japanese) and then show us how the hawk hunts.
No reservation is required, but we might restrict the number of participants.
Admission for SAMAC is required; Adult 900 yen, 16-to-18-years-old student 500 yen, under-15-years-old children 300 yen
